Enjoy

We are just trying to enjoy our days that are free from the harmful effects of chemotherapy. Besides the fact that Ally is not allowed to go to any indoor places right now, we are trying to live our life just as a "normal" family. We are appreciating that we are getting to do more and rest less and hear more laughs in the process. I guess this is our "summer vacation" during summer vacation. We have enjoyed the following simple pleasures:

1. Watching our son Evan do his vacation bible school show. He was quite happy that his Mommy and his Daddy were able to come.
2. Hanging out at Fox Hill pool. For eight hours! Carly took her nap there and we just enjoyed what to me was really one of the few normal days of summer.
3. Going back to our local market downtown. The kids loved it last week, so we did it again.
3. Watching a parade for our dear Superintendent Denny Morrison, who is regrettably leaving our school district, and attending a little party for him.
4. Hanging out at the Grants house Saturday night with our friends on the patio.

I am trying a short video here that captures all of the fun. It is a little jumpy. I am learning! It is after midnight and I don't feel like messing with it, but enjoy the pics. Have a nice weekend!

  1. Sweet video--so glad you've been able to enjoy these days. I love that Ally has been able to do so much and that you've taken advantage of it!

A side note for little Evan--I'm so proud of him this week. He sang and danced his little heart out at VBS! Amazing how God works through kids. Thanks for sharing that with me...

  2. Congratulations, Evan. Hope he had a great week. And I heard Denny might be back in a year or something....that's the gossip in NYC at least. He was at Made River when my dad was sick and was really supportive. What a great man!

So here's to a quiet Sunday, and a solid week of more good days.

  4. Love all the smiles in the video - neat captures.
Just FYI - I have volunteered to do a neighborhood drive for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society here in L'burg. I'll let you know how it goes!

  5. Neat video, glad you got to do something "normal" whatever it might be. Have a great weekend. I worked for Denny at Mad River and it was great, he will be missed. The pool pictures were neat also. Great job Evan. Take care, all of you.
