Mouth sores, again.

Wow. It is just never ending for us. The poor girl now has mouth sores again. They are primarily in her throat. She is in pain, not eating, and very little talking. We are always on the verge of deciding whether or not to take her back to the hospital. We will see if we make it through the night with a trip to the ER.

She has been asking for me to make her a roast chicken. She wanted it Sunday and Monday, but that is just not an easy thing to throw in and have done. I had to go to the store to get the chicken, which complicates matters. So today, after a six month hiatus from the grocery store, I took her back. She has not stepped foot into that store since mid-May! I had a bunch of stuff to get...too much to have one of my runners get for me. So off we went. I shouldn't have done it, because of the germs, but I did. I am tired of being so trapped that I can't even run to the store. I did find out that they have wheelchairs with little baskets on them. I obviously couldn't push both a wheelchair and a cart, so I filled a cart while she was still walking. Then I left it up by the register, put her in the wheelchair, and finished the trip. Not without a lot of stares. But I did it and I am well used to the staring by now.

And that was pretty much our day. Again, hoping her sores get better and not worse...or my address will once again be Dayton Children's.

  1. Oh no, not mouth sores again. :( You always can leave Ally over here or I can come there while you run to the store! Of course, not today though as Owen's got some sort of bug. But any other time, you name it. So did she get to eat the chicken?

  2. The trip to the store was good for both of you, great job on the last treatment and those ugly sores will be gone soon because she is processing the medicine quite well this time. Please tell Ally that I still have my fingers painted. I returned to Florida yesterday and she has a job here anytime. The rainbow colors made lots of people smile. Ally you are the best!!!! Here is hoping that the next few days will be better and she can eat once again. Lots of hugs and prayers coming your way.

  3. With the meds out of her system the sores should subside quickly this time, right? Do you have pain meds to manage this at home? Oh Janel, I am hugging you right now. Close your eyes and feel it. We are all right here with you.

  4. OH NO!
Hopefully, they will be over soon. Janel, I am always available, especially, for Roasted Chicken, and mashed potatoes :). PLEASE. . . call me anytime, for anything. I have the "rice bags" for Ally. My mom made them for her, and they will provide soothing heat for her. I will drop off soon.

  5. Praying that the sores are not as severe as last time and Ally can recover quickly. I know, sometimes it just seems like it's one storm after another...

  7. UGGGHHHH! banish all of the sores and pain. I'm proud of you for getting to the store, even if it was a pain in the rear. Sending strong hopes that the sores are gone soon. We made a roasted chicken on Sunday, and if I'd known Ally wanted one, I would have fed ex'd it there! I think they have a special rate for chickens....

  8. Hoping Ally and everyone else enjoys the roasted chicken. Praying for those sores to go away so she can eat, talk and just feel better!!! I know you would make anything that Ally would eat and how wonderful that something sctually sounded good to her. So glad you had some time to go shopping on Sunday - and Ally had some time with Dad. Your strength is awesome.
